Senior Care Living Facilities Are in High Demand

Why Senior Assisted Living and Memory Care?

An Assisted Living Facility is a system of housing and limited care services designed for senior citizens who need assistance with daily activities. However, they do not require extensive care in a nursing home. It is ideal for senior adults who cannot or choose not to live independently. These types of facilities are in extremely high demand in the United States. And, it’s mainly due to the aging population of the “baby boomer” generation born from 1940 – 1960.

According to the Senior Living Fund, the impressive growth dynamics of the U.S. senior population and the housing industry is a powerful investment environment. The demand for Senior Housing Continues to Exceed Supply. This is a growing market with potential.

HIGH DEMAND

10,000
BABY BOOMERS TURN 65 EACH DAY

The number of Americans 65 and older will increase from 47.8 million in 2015 to 79.2 million by 2035. Therefore, American Seniors are retiring at an extremely fast rate.

LOW SUPPLY

60,000
NEW SENIOR HOUSING UNIT REQUIRED PER YEAR

Units under construction began to decline in 2008 and continued to fall through 2011 with only slight growth through 2014. So, the rate of senior housing construction is not keeping up with the growth of the elderly populations.

173
INCREASE PER YEAR IN SENIOR HOUSING UNITS IS NECESSARY TO MEET THE PROJECTED DEMAND.
